FAQ

What is the annual salary of Hollywood?

A movie takes around $100 million to create. The average movie costs around $100 million to make. If you made ten movies per month for a ten year, you'd have enough cash to buy a small country.

You would own your own island, with an airport, a power plant, a bank, a post office, a police force, a fire department, a school system, a hospital, a zoo, a sports stadium, a theater, and a cinema.

If this doesn't sound fun, you are insane.

Is there any Hollywood Walk of Fame without a fee?

Yes! To visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you don't need to pay anything. To take photos of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, however, you will need to apply for a permit. This costs $15 per person.

A valid ID is required if you are planning to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

If you are below 18 years old, you must accompany someone 21-years-old or older.

You can't enter the walkway before 10 am.

Once you are inside, you will not be able to leave the walkway without paying another time.

Cameras are not allowed on the walkway.

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Hollywood studios produce around 3,000 films per year. That's right, 3000!

Hollywood spends billions on advertising for these films. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions promoting them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

The answer is probably around 200-300. What happens then to the 2,700+ remaining films? Well, most are either made as direct-to-video releases, or they just sit there gathering dust in storage vaults.

However, not all of them are unavoidable. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

So why don't we see more of them? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They are too expensive for production.

And if they were cheaper to produce, they'd be released into theaters.

That's where my expertise comes in. I'll help you find the best way for your film to be released in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Let's face it, we all know...

It can be challenging to get your film into theaters. The process can be complex and lengthy.

You may end up spending a lot of money before you get started.

The time frame in which your film can be distributed is also very limited.

There isn't enough time in between the time a movie is finished and when its theatrical run starts.

How much does it cost to distribute a feature film?

A distribution deal can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

The average cost of a theater is approximately $10,000

Screens cost on average around $5,000

It means that, if you have 100 screens your distribution fees would be $500,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.

How To

How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It's made up of 2,711 stars, which are embedded in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who contributed to motion pictures, television, radio, theater, music, or some aspect of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 active individuals on the HWOF.

You must first submit your name and address to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to become a member of HWOF. The Hollywood Department of Cultural Affairs then submits your information to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once approved, you receive a certificate of eligibility, which includes your name, date of birth, city of residence, occupation, and category. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.

You may apply to be a star if you are nominated by a HWOF member or if you make significant contributions to television, radio, TV, theatre, music or other forms of "popular culture". A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do, they send a letter to the applicant's home address explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then charges $25 and forwards the money on to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues an official check payable to Hollywood Chamber of commerce. This check is then sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the application submitted by the artist or organization. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

After the artist has been awarded his/her star, they are eligible to join the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due depends on how many years ago you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. However, if you had been previously nominated in 1980, you would owe $10,000.

You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.

How old is one to be eligible for a HWOF Star?

To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. To receive a star, one must be alive at that time. After receiving a stars, one could still be nominated after ten more years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

A family member can nominate your name for a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?

The HWOF was not created to be a historical landmark. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.

What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves stole approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs approximately 250-300 pounds, which equates to 4 tons of stars.
