Is Long Life the Royals worth a watch? This comedy mashes up Regular Show and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and is about a royal family who just want to survive the holidays. However, I found the show lacking. I found it boring and dull. I have other complaints. Keep reading to discover why. We are sure you will like it. If not, skip it and look for another comedy.
Long Live the Royals is a mashup of Regular Show and The Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack
Long Live the Royals has its own unique style. Unlike Over the Garden Wall which celebrated limited format storytelling, Long Live the Royals struggled to find its footing. The show instead of exploring family dynamics, societal disparity and other issues, it diverts from the topic with a few decent jokes. The show could have been extended to a full series.
I was interested in how this project came to be and was curious to learn more about it. I don't yet know if I'd like to be a cartoonist but I'm happy that I can share my experience with the world. Cartoon Network offers a great program which aims at nurturing new artists within and outside the studio. After viewing several of these shorts and being intrigued by the idea, I sent in a storyboard.
It's the story of a royal family who tries to survive the holidays
It's about a royal family trying their best to survive the holidays. Queen Elizabeth II and her family enjoy the holiday, sharing gag gifts and enjoying tea. They keep it simple: cheap, cheerful, funny gifts. The royals are careful not to show off their wealth. This holiday classic will make you laugh as the royals navigate the holidays.

The Queen typically travels to Sandringham about a week prior to Christmas. This makes it an extremely hectic trip. They rent a carriage to get there, and Prince Philip has been known to accompany them in previous years. Sandringham is 100-miles outside London where the whole royal family celebrates christmas. The entire royal family is invited to the festivities. They are treated to teatime jokes, black-tie meals, and parlor games.
It's a quasi-soap opera
Soap operas were first broadcast on radio in the UK. However, the BBC initially opposed them due to poor quality broadcasting. The BBC finally gave in and broadcast Front Line Family. This episode was intended to encourage American participation in World War II. The BBC broadcasts The Archers today, which is the longest-running radio soap. The first episode aired on May 1950. It is still broadcast every week on BBC Radio 4. It has received over five millions listeners worldwide, or 25% of total radio listeners in Britain.
It's boring
"It's Boring", despite it's popularity, is a Cartoon Network comedy series that's mediocre at best. The only show that really managed to make me laugh while I was watching is Over the Garden Wall, which embraced its limited format and told a complete emotional tale in four episodes. This new comedy is a mixture of Flapjack & Regular Show. That's a shame. However, I suppose you get what is promised.
Long Live the Royals lacks originality and relies too heavily on recurring characters. This makes it a dull experience. The original pilot, Sean Szeles's Adventure Time: The First Season, was a big hit. It was based on the same-named Emmy-winning short, and was the second original miniseries produced by Cartoon Network Studios.
