celebrities age

Many country fans have heard country parodies. Many country songs are parodies on country stars such as Tommy Graham and Harland Haywood. It is what is so funny about these songs? Is there a way to make parodies of country songs? It's hard to know, but I'd venture that there are many!

Brantley Aldean

Brantley Aldean might have parodied some country music you heard Monday night. The lyrics are similar to his earlier country hits like "Lights Come On." Aldean's latest song, "Tonight looks good on you," is from his album Old Boots, New Dirt. This song is parody of Tracy Byrd's classic Tracy Byrd song, "Johnny Cash." Tracy Byrd sang the original version, while Aldean's rendition refers to Cash's passing in the chorus.

How To

How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents an individual who contributed to popular culture, such as television, radio or theater. The HWOF currently lists 1,922 people.

To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once approved, a certificate will be sent to you stating that you are eligible. This includes your name as well as date of birth and the city where you live. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is affixed to a concrete base in front of the designated star.

A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. The nominations are evaluated by a committee, which then decides whether or not to approve them. If they do so, they send a message to the applicant's address explaining their decision. A second letter confirms acceptance if the nominee accepts the nomination. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then charges $25 and forwards the money on to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs pays the remainder.

After an artist has received his/her Star, he/she can be eligible for the HWOF. To be listed on the HWOF, you must pay the remaining balance owed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will vary depending on how long ago you were nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.

To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.

How old must one be to get a HWOF star

You must be at the least 18 year old to be nominated. To be eligible for a star, you must still be alive. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Your family members can nominate you for a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not just have stars on every street?

The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is meant to honor those who contributed to film history.

What happened the star thefts? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
