Distribution deals typically cost $100,000 to $150,000.

Theaters typically cost around $10,000.

The average screen cost is about $5,000

That means that if you have 100 screens, then your distribution fee would be around $500,000.

Your distribution fees would be $50,000 if you had ten screens.

How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?

Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. It's true, there are three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions creating them. They also spend millions on marketing them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

The answer is probably around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Many of the films are either directly-to-video released or left to collect dust in storage vaults.

Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

So why don't we see more of them? They are not being released in theaters. They're too costly to produce.

And if they were cheaper to produce, they'd be released into theaters.

That's where I come in. I'll help you find the best way for your film to be released in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Because let's face it...

It can be hard to get your film into the theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It may also cost you plenty of money before you even get started.

You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Does Hollywood make more money from foreign sales than domestic sales?

Yes, but only slightly. In 2017, foreign revenues accounted for about 17% of total revenue. 83% of domestic revenues were generated in 2017.

Over half of the world's population is actually located in overseas markets.

This means that many people, even those who don't watch movies at home, will still want to see yours.

How To

How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF's Los Angeles location is at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star is a symbol of someone who contributed to the production of motion pictures, television, radio and theater or other aspects popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.

To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you have been approved, you will be given a certificate that shows your name and details, including date of birth, place of residence, occupation, and category. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is attached on a concrete base at the star.

You can apply for a star if a current member of the HWOF nominated you or if you made significant contributions to movies, television, radio, theatre, music, or something else considered part of "popular culture." A committee reviews all the nominations before deciding whether or not they are approved. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The applicant then pays $25 to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which forwards the money to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues the Hollywood Chamber of commerce a check, payable to it. The check is sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the artist or organization whose application was accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

After an artist has received his/her Star, he/she can be eligible for the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due depends upon how many years ago your first nomination was. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. If you were nominated for the first time in 1990, you would owe $15,000.

If you want to remove yourself from the HWOF, you need to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and pay off the remainder of your debt. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

One needs to be at least 18 years old when being nominated. To receive a coveted star, one must be at least 18 years old. After receiving a Star, one can still be Nominated for another star after ten Years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

A family member can nominate your name for a star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce can place a memorial marker next to the star, if there aren't any living relatives.

Why can't we just choose a different street and not have stars all over?

The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It honors those who made history through film.

What happened with the stars that were stolen? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs approximately 250-300 pounds, which equates to 4 tons of stars.
