Nashville Music Legend

celebrities defending johnny depp

Eddie Arnold is an American country music artist. He was raised in Tennessee by his father, who played bass and fiddle. To help his father, he dropped out of school and began to dance whenever he could. After moving to St. Louis, Arnold played nightclubs with fiddler Speedy McNatt. He eventually secured a regular radio program on WMPS Memphis, where he developed a loyal following.

Early

Elvis Presley did not know Early Eddie Arnold. However, he was a gifted singer who made a huge name for himself within the country music industry. He was a talented singer and dancer who later met "Colonel Tom Parker", who would become his manager. He had many top ten hits with Early Eddie Arnold, and "Cattle Call" was a country classic.

Popularity

Eddie Arnold's songs were very popular during the 1950s and 1960s. Although his country music style was closer to the crooner than to the hillbilly, he enjoyed widespread acceptance in the entertainment industry. He often crossed over to pop music, and was still highly sought after long into his senior years. But his record sales did not reach the same heights as they were in the 1950s and 1960s. Despite his slow declines in chart sales and the fact that he continued to sell well through the '60s, he was still able to sell out concert venues and records well.

Record-selling

Record sales plummeted in the 1950s, which was a period of depression for country music. Arnold was considering quitting the music business but was right on the cusp a new wave, and was ready to give up his Tennessee Plowboy image to a more sophisticated one. Arnold managed to keep going despite the downturn and continue to record new music. His style became known as Nashville sound. It was his same style that made Elvis Presley such a popular artist.

Community leader

It is not surprising to see so many Nashville events celebrating Eddie Arnold's centennial. Arnold was not only a beloved singer, but he was also an entrepreneur and leader in the community. He created several subdivisions in Brentwood before selling the company to the city. His former home is now part of a Nashville development. It is free and open the public.

Song "Make The World Go Away"

Eddy Arnold's song "Make the World Go Away" is an example of country pop. It was written by Hank Cochran. Ray Price recorded it in 1963. Since then, it has been covered by many artists. Arnold was a country legend who helped to popularize the sound and style of Nashville in the 50s and 60s. His hit song "Make the World Go Away" became a huge hit in the 1960s, 1970s, and remained on the charts for many years in country pop.

Why isn't there more crowdfunding sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter for filmmakers?

Crowdfunding websites are great because you can reach potential investors directly.

However, most filmmakers do not believe they are qualified to request money. They feel they need someone else who can vouch for them.

And since they haven't proven themselves yet, they don't think anyone should invest in them.

Instead, they spend long hours working on their project, in hopes of someone noticing.

Then, once they finally launch their campaign, they realize they didn't prepare properly.

So instead of getting thousands of dollars, they end up with just a handful of donations.

What's the difference of an indie movie and a foreign-language film?

A filmmaker typically makes an independent film. This is because he or she makes every decision.

How To

How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF can be found at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It has 2,711 stars embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.

You will need to submit your application to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in order to be considered for membership to the HWOF. Once submitted, your name will be sent to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. After being approved, you will be issued a certificate stating your name, date and place of birth. It also includes information about your occupation, occupation and category. A bronze plaque with the name of your choice is included. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.

A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. A committee evaluates all nominations and then decides whether to approve them. If they do, they will send a letter explaining their decision to the applicant at his/her home address. If the person accepts the nomination, he/she receives a second letter confirming acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce will then pay $25. This money is forwarded to the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles.

The department issues a check payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which sends the check to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the applicant or organization. The artist or organization then pays the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce half the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs receives the remaining half.

Once an artist has received their star, he/she is eligible to be listed in the HWOF. To be listed on the HWOF, you must pay the remaining balance owed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will vary depending on how long ago you were nominated. For example, if you were first nominated in 1990, you would owe $15,000. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.

If you want to remove yourself from the HWOF, you need to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and pay off the remainder of your debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. To receive a star, one must be alive at that time. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

You can be nominated by your family members to receive a star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce can place a memorial marker next to the star, if there aren't any living relatives.

Why can't we just choose a different street and not have stars all over?

The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is meant as a memorial to all who contributed to the history of film.

What happened to the stolen stars? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250-300 lbs, so if you add up all the weight, that comes out to about 4 tons worth of stars!
