How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?

Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. That's right, 3000!

Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions making them. And they spend millions promoting them. But how many end up actually getting seen in the theaters, do you think?

The answer is most likely between 200 and 300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Many of the films are either directly-to-video released or left to collect dust in storage vaults.

Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They are too expensive for production.

They could also be made cheaper and put into theaters.

I can help. I'll help you find the best way for your film to be released in theaters.

I will show you how to maximize the return on your investment (ROI), and increase your chances of seeing your film in theaters.

Let's face facts...

It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process is complex, lengthy and involves many legalities.

It might also cost you a lot before you start.

It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.

There is simply not enough time between the end of a film and when it goes on its theatrical run.

How much does it cost to distribute a feature film?

A distribution deal can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

Theaters typically cost around $10,000.

The average screen cost is about $5,000

That means that if you have 100 screens, then your distribution fee would be around $500,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.

Why are there so few independent films that get released?

Indie filmmakers tend to assume that distributors will buy their films.

Because the film is loved by the public, they believe distributors will be interested in it.

However, this is seldom the case. Distributors often profit from independent filmmakers.

They might delay a film’s release date until after the awards show has finished.

They also delay the release date for a low-budget film until the summer blockbuster movie season has begun.

Distributors also try to keep films away from audiences until they've already spent hundreds of dollars on tickets, popcorn, or candy.

They don't wish to lose those profits.
