FAQ
Is Hollywood more important than Bollywood?
Producing films that are well-received is the most difficult challenge.
The problem is that there are many movies competing for people's time and money. You won't be noticed if your movie isn't unique.
But what makes a movie great? What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? Talent is not enough. It also requires luck. You might have all the best actors in the world, but if they're working on a bad script, nothing will come of it.
And when it comes to films, there are two main types: big-budget blockbusters and small independent productions. Production and distribution of blockbuster movies costs hundreds of millions. They are typically made by huge studios who want to ensure that their movies reach a wide audience. These big-budget movies appeal to older audiences.
Independent films can be smaller productions funded by individuals or groups. These films tend to target niche markets and are tailored to specific tastes. These films are usually easier to market and produce. However, this does not mean they are always less expensive to watch. Most indie films are difficult to find.
We need both types? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. Hollywood produces nearly twice as many movies annually as India.
How much does it cost to distribute a feature film?
Distribution deals typically cost $100,000 to $150,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.
What percentage of box office profits goes to marketing?
Marketing budgets often account for 20%-40% of the film's budget. This is because marketing is very important to the success of any film.
No one will know about your film if you don't do good marketing. It is impossible to get people to pay for your film without knowing all about it.
